Bam Adebayo has become the butt of jokes lately, no thanks to the struggles Miami Heat are going through this month. There are jokes about how his real-life partner is better at shooting and then some more. Even broadcast team get on it in roasting the three-time All-Star.

“Maybe his girlfriend can help him with his shooting.”

Brian Scalabrini tries to go a different route. He is looking to motivate Adebayo,

First, he gave praises to the Heat big man, talking about his potential. Then, he pointed out what’s wrong about his style of play and he might be on point.

“I think he can be one of the best players in the NBA but he’s just an average offensive player,” he said.

“He has the tools to be a great player. When he drives to the basket, certain players will figure out how to use their body to get a layup, he’ll end up taking a fadeaway jumper. It’s his inability to get 4/5 of those ‘im just bigger than you and im laying the ball up.

“If everything is a jump hook or fadeaway, you’re never going to be an efficient player.”

People agree with this take by Scalabrini who spent 10 years in the league and won the title with the Celtics in 2008. He is now working as an analyst for Celtics games.

Heat fans agree with Bam Adebayo take by White Mamba

Adebayo has been contributing the way he usually does. His current averages are almost the same with what he recorded from last season.

However, this statline hardly affect winning. Heat are 1-7 in their last eight after recording a splendid November that got them to no. 3 in the Eastern Conference standings.

Adebayo did not find much defender from this take by Scalabrini.

Among the guys he was being compared to during this younger years was two-time MVP Giannis Antetokounmpo but that ship must have sailed now. He might not just be a good two-way player and is better off focusing on defense.

Even his And 1 attempts make me realize offense just isn’t for him. Norman always looks like the ball can still go in after contact, Bam just nowhere close

The Heat are currently 15-14 and are eight in the East.
