“100 Pairs of Autographed Sneakers”: Unnamed NBA Vet’s Jaw-Dropping Tale of a Woman’s Wild Condition for One Night Hookup

An unnamed NBA veteran once thought he’d seen it all during his playing days. He was supposed to include road trips, groupies, and wild nights with the territory. But one encounter left him speechless, and the story still gets laughs decades later.

The company of a female actually makes the story much more interesting. However, this one is pretty different from those where female celebrities give attention to NBA players for money and sometimes throw them into a serious cheating scandal.

The player was out relaxing while adding his drink, but noticed an attractive woman and both of them quickly connected. When he asked if they could spend more time together that night, she agreed but with an unusual condition.

She didn’t ask for money or jewelry. She wanted autographed sneakers, which were quite strange but not alarming. So, the unnamed former NBA player signs shoes all the time for fans or events, so he didn’t read too much into it.

After agreeing to the beautiful young woman’s condition, both of them headed back to her place. The ex-NBA star dug into his bag, pulled out his game-worn sneakers, and signed them all before giving them to her.

However, the signing moment must have given him a headache because, according to The Los Angeles Times, it was nearly 100 pairs of shoes.

“She took them to her closet and opened the door,” he said in 1991 with a wide grin on his face. “There must have been 100 pairs of shoes in there, all autographed by NBA players.”

The veteran realized he’d been played, but he couldn’t even be mad because it was quite a different experience with a young lady right beside him.

He never exposed her details. Maybe she’s still out there, closet overflowing with signed heat. Either way, the former NBA star learned a valuable lesson that 90’s night: never trust something that seems too easy. He was lucky that the woman he met was far better than some of the opportunists.
