Steve Nash is a great player but his coaching career is what someone can say as ‘meh’. The Phoenix Suns legend has a three-year stint with the Brooklyn Nets when he coached the controversial and disappointing Big 3 of Kevin Durant, James Harden, and Kyrie Irving.

It might take a long time before he returns to coaching but he is back in a front office job and this time, with a team where his legend was created.
Suns owner announced that they are hiring the Canadian legend as a senior adviser.
“Steve Nash was an amazing player and exactly what the Phoenix Suns are all about,” Ishbia announced on his social media account.
“His grit, toughness, and winning mentality have defined our organization in the past, and I’m so excited to share that Steve is formally joining the Suns as a senior advisor and will help us define our future for years to come!”

Nash was originally drafted by the Suns in 1996 but was traded to the Dallas Mavericks in 1998. He returned in 2004 and that is when his career took off, winning himself two NBA season MVP awards and taking the Suns to relevance again with multiple Western Conference finals appearances.
Nash is replacing James Jones who is now the NBA’s executive vice president, head of basketball operations.
Devin Booker is excited to work with Steve Nash
Greatness is something Nash achieved and as senior adviser, that will be helpful for the Suns and their players to navigate the NBA world.
Team star Devin Booker is among those who are happiest with the arrival of eight-time NBA All-Star saying his presence will raise the level of performances across the board.
“Having two-time (referring to Nash’s two NBA MVP awards) in the building, you know, him being around for all of us, just knowing that he’s in the gym is going to raise the level of everything,” Booker said.

“I’m excited to further develop that relationship and pick his brain. Obviously, he’s a mastermind of the sport.”
Suns are coming off an overhaul over the summer and is now more of a young team compared to the last one. They let go Durant and Bradley Beal and then acquired Jalen Green and Dillon Brooks.
