Alex Caruso now has two NBA titles after winning it with the Oklahoma City Thunder last season. It’s rare to find a multiple -time champion these days given how wide open the league has been in the last half decade.

The 31-year-old shooting guard found the right home with OKC and now, he wants to have more than two. He thinks he can do it because even before he came to Oklahoma, his confidence to win the the title is already off the roofs.

“Every year I’m in the league, I think I can win a championship. Whether it’s true or not is up for debate from the outside world,” Caruso said via OKC Thunder Wire.

“That’s our goal. It would be a lie if we said, ‘No, we’re just going to show up and try to have a good year.’ Obviously, we want to win the championship again. There’s a lot that goes into that.”

It is indeed up for interpretation as he spent three seasons with the Chicago Bulls which have been hardly contenders while he was with them. He only got to see one playoff game with the Bulls and he probably feels lucky he got out there as the team’s projected finish for the new season won’t by any different.

He won his first title with the Lakers but that team missed the playoffs in his first two seasons.

Alex Caruso is addicted to winning

The consensus about the 2025-26 season, whether it is the critics or bookmakers, is that OKC are capable of repeating. With their 2024-25 squad basically untouched, many believe they are still the team to beat.

The drive in the team does not waver and according Caruso, they can still improve and perhaps, be at the forefront in battle for the ring.

“One’s not enough. I won my second one last year and now I want a third,” he said.

“It’s addicting, dude. Once you get the first one, you want the next one more.”

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander (2) Coach Mark Daigneault, Chet Holmgren (7) and Jalen Williams (8) during the Thunder Media Day for the 25-26 NBA season at the Paycom Center Monday, Sept. 29, 2025.

ESPN, Bleacher Report, and NBA.com rank OKC as the best team not just in the Western Conference but also in the entire league.

Shai Gilgeous-Alexander, Jaylen Williams, and Chet Holmgren are also regarded as the Best Big 3 right now. Looks like Caruso is right, all roads lead to OKC.
