Philadelphia 76ers pre-season is looking generally looking good with almost everyone reporting for the training camp. Sophomore Jared McCain is the certain one to not start the season but the rest, including Joe Embiid, Paul George, and Tyrese Maxey are expected to be there.

Team is going bank on their Big 3 again after they missed out most of their first season together. They are hard on rehab and scrimmages but PG is not rushing anything. George, who signed a four-year, $212 million contract last season, said he is getting better but is not setting expectations yet about the opening week.
“I think I’m getting better and better [health-wise]…this next couple of weeks is very important leading into the start of the season, opening night,” said George.
He emphasized though that he is feeling good at this point.
“I do think I will be at a good place, hopefully earlier than later. Can’t get any worse than last year. That was a rock bottom type of season.”

PG13, Maxey, and Embiid played just a total of 15 games together. George himself suit up for just 41 games and posted 16ppg, the lowest since his first two seasons with Indiana Pacers.
Nick Nurse has new role for Paul George
George is a designated scorer for teams he has played for. His career high average was 28 points when he was an MVP candidate during his time with the Oklahoma City Thunder.
Sixers head coach Nick Nurse is not going to put him a lot of pressure on his shoulders in this new era when it comes to scoring. PG said he was given a new task.
“He’s relying on me to kind of help the young guys, he said.

“Whether it’s working on how to get open or defensive concepts or just being in the right places, he’s counting on me to kind of be another voice to kind of help the young guys.
“So, yeah, that means a lot to me, for coach to have that trust in me to kind of help the young guys.”
The notable new guy in the team is third overall pick VJ Edgecombe. Maxey may also be considered young at 24 years old.
