To reach heights in the sport you play in, you must surpass not just everybody, but yourself as well. A’ja Wilson has shown that while scaling the pinnacle of the WNBA is a daunting task that only a handful of athletes will ever reach, it is doable. And so she has done just that.
Her former coach, Dawn Staley, knows the value and the struggle that A’ja Wilson had to endure. It was no small feat, even after their team-up when Stanley coached Wilson at South Carolina.

“I mean, (A’ja Wilson) got one more than everybody else right,” Staley said. “She’s got an MVP for half of the seasons that she’s been in the league. I don’t think that’s ever been done. She’s the best in the world for sure.”
Throughout her WNBA career, A’ja Wilson has captured the MVP award 4 times. This achievement was only replicated by a few highly skilled players. Each had a flavor of dominance or a highly rated skill. All of which had the ability to carry the team on their backs and drag the team all the way to the top.
The season is coming to a closure soon, and we might see more accolades yet for A’ja Wilson. But one thing is for sure, she is not done. She probably has a final form somewhere, hidden and waiting to be exposed. Amidst the influx of new and refreshing talents, and even the addition of those whose following is as notable as their skills. But the original Top Tier Cover Girl is still owning these streets, and it will take more than social media presence to knock her off this hill.
LeBron James Congratulates A’ja Wilson After Historic Fourth MVP Win
The celebration of A’ja Wilson winning her fourth MVP extended far beyond the WNBA. One of the loudest voices to chime in was four-time NBA MVP LeBron James, who posted his praise on Instagram.

“4 piece chicken nugget!!!! Congratulations sis,” James wrote, showing his respect for Wilson’s latest achievement.

The message carried more than just humor. For James, himself a legend with four MVPs, the acknowledgment placed Wilson’s dominance in rare company. At just 28, she has already matched the kind of sustained excellence usually reserved for the greatest names in basketball history.
Her four MVPs are proof of a career defined by consistency, leadership, and a drive that doesn’t fade. And with the Aces still in championship contention, Wilson’s story is far from finished.
