A’ja Wilson of the Las Vegas Aces was quite impressed with JuJu Watson recently breaking a college basketball record. On Friday, Watkins, who plays for the USC Trojans in the Big Ten Conference completed a total of 1000 career points. The player managed to score her 1000th point in her 38th college game.

Several basketball legends dropped astounding reactions to Watkins’ astounding milestone, including A’ja Wilson. Wilson, who has been a strong supporter of other female basketball players, and often publicly shows her encouragement, shared an Instagram post with her appreciation.

“Yes maam @jujubballin,” A’ja Wilson posted.

Wilson has been a pioneer in women’s basketball in her own style. In the 2024 WNBA season, Wilson managed to score a total of 1000 points, becoming the first female basketball player to do so in the United States. This was in the game against the Connecticut Sun, when the Las Vegas Aces managed to win with a final score of 84-71.

On Friday’s game between the USC Trojans and the Santa Clara Broncos, the Trojans went on to win with a final score of 81-50. Against the Broncos, USC’s Watkins scored a total of 22 points, along with five boards and five helpers. Kiki Iriafen went on to put up 20 points, while grabbing seven rebounds and assisting thrice.

A’ja Wilson Thrills Fans In South Carolina Vs East Carolina On Sunday

A’ja Wilson has carved a solid niche for herself in women’s basketball, inspiring numerous other players to grab their own unique style just like she did for herself. On Sunday, Wilson was seen at the Colonial Life Arena to watch the South Carolina Gamecocks meet the East Carolina Pirates.

WNBA fans were simply ecstatic as Wilson was the one who led the Gamecocks to victory in 2017. As a testimony to the big win, Wilson wore a Gamecocks hoodie, with black faux leather leggings. Social media was ablaze with many WNBA fans who dropped their appreciation for the women’s basketball legend coming home again.

While playing for the South Carolina Gamecocks, A’ja Wilson quickly rose to become one of the best players the team had ever seen. Wilson played under head coach Dawn Staley, the star managed to win the ‘National Player of the Year’ award in her final season, along with the ‘Wooden Award’, the ‘Wade Trophy’ and the ‘Naismith Trophy’. Because of her success with the Gamecocks, Wilson eventually became the overall pick in the 2018 WNBA draft.
