A’ja Wilson just released her new, signature Nike A’One shoes, featuring a striking “Supernova” colorway. And to many fans, they knew the story behind the shoes’ colors, which came from none other than her boyfriend and Miami Heat star, Bam Adebayo. Speaking on Tuesday, Wilson shared the process behind her shoes and how they all sincerely mean to her.

When a reporter asked Wilson about the story behind her colorway, she didn’t hold back and said it was inspired by Adebayo and the Heat. The three-time WNBA MVP also thanked Nike for bringing her A’One shoes to life, made possible through a variety of colorways and styles.
“They are kind of heat-fuego inspired,” Wilson said. “I think everyone understands why that’s kind of a cute thing.”
“Every colorway pretty much tells a story, and that’s what I love the most,” Wilson added. “And I try to keep it vibrant. I try to keep it fun, because we are in the summer. So yeah, I’ve definitely been a key component in the A’One process, and obviously, I’m not alone.”
It isn’t new to everyone how deeply connected A’ja Wilson and Adebayo are. Fans started seeing them together during the 2024 Olympics, and since then, they have landed cryptic hints about their relationship. Just this February, Wilson confirmed the rumors during her jersey retirement at South Carolina, mentioning Adebayo as one of the key figures in her life.

Wilson and Adebayo also watch each other’s games. Just this WNBA All-Star Weekend, Adebayo was captured in a national broadcast watching her girlfriend, who was playing for Team Clark, from the sidelines. The relationship, so far, has been deeply close, and we hope it strengthens.
A’ja Wilson named as Jr. WNBA Global Ambassador
A’ja Wilson’s impact stretches far beyond the hardwood. Named the new Jr. WNBA Global Ambassador, the Las Vegas Aces star is stepping up to inspire the next generation—using basketball as a launchpad for leadership and confidence in young girls around the world.
“Connecting with youth in the future of this game, it’s so near and dear to my heart,” Wilson said in an interview with the WNBA. “I was once in their position, literally not even knowing if I wanted to play basketball, not even knowing if I wanted to stay in sports. And because I did, it allowed me to be the person that I am today.”

This isn’t new for A’ja Wilson. She’s been showing up for people long before the ambassador title came through her A’ja Wilson Foundation, helping people with dyslexia and making sure their voice matters.
