A’ja Wilson, Las Vegas Aces superstar, was recently asked about which team she would support in both men’s and women’s college basketball in the March Madness tournament. Wilson, who was part of the South Carolina Gamecocks during her college days, obviously picked her alma mater. For the men’s side, Wilson did not have a clear response and simply backed the ‘best team’ to win.
Wilson played for the South Carolina Gamecocks from 2014 to 2018. During her time for South Carolina, she managed to win the NCAA Championship once. In the 2018 WNBA draft, Wilson was selected by the Las Vegas Aces as the first overall pick in the very first round of the draft.
“Women, go Gamecocks. Men… May the best team win.” A’ja Wilson responded to the question of whom she would be supporting in the March Madness tournament.

A’ja Wilson’s alma mater, South Carolina finished second in the Southeastern table in their regular season with a 15-1 conference score and 30-3 overall. In the SEC playoffs, the Gamecocks won all the three games against the Vanderbilt Commodores, the Oklahoma Sooners, and the Texas Longhorns. For the first round of the NCAA tournament, the South Carolina Gamecocks will be locking horns with the TN Tech Golden Eagles this weekend.

A’ja Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces Teammate, Chelsea Gray, Discusses Unrivaled Season And More
Meanwhile, A’ja Wilson’s Las Vegas Aces teammate, Chelsea Gray, is still basking in the glory of winning the first season of the Unrivaled League with the Rose basketball club. In a recent interview with High Post Hoops, Wilson was asked about her time in the Unrivaled League, and the various challenges the team faced in the 3-on-3 tournament.

According to the interview, the Rose basketball club had its share of troubles as soon as the season began, mainly because the teammates were all new to each other and had not played together in the WNBA. However, as soon as the players began to understand each other, the Rose BC experienced plenty of chemistry, which was the main reason behind their success in the Unrivaled League.

Wilson fans hoped to see the legend play during the WNBA offseason for the Unrivaled League, like many of her colleagues in the league. But, Wilson opted to stay out and instead focus on other projects before the WNBA season kicks off in May. Wilson has managed to keep her fans delighted despite her absence in the Unrivaled, even managing to release her signature shoe line with Nike.
