With the WNBA regular season almost done and the playoffs heating up, A’ja Wilson has caught the attention of Steph Curry. The two-time NBA MVP believes Wilson should be the frontrunner for this year’s WNBA MVP.
Wilson has been in the mix all season, and the Las Vegas Aces’ 17-game win streak only made her case stronger. Napheesa Collier is right there too, while Alyssa Thomas also has her name floating around.

Curry, who knows what it’s like to win MVP, gave his pick without hesitation. He leaned toward Wilson.
Speaking to USA Today Sports, Curry shared his excitement for the playoffs, especially with the New York Liberty and Minnesota Lynx in the spotlight. But he made sure to point out who he thinks stands above the rest.
“I know the defending champs, the New York Liberty,” Curry said. “Big Sabrina fan. Between them and Minnesota, I’m excited to see how it goes. Don’t forget about, you know, the most probable MVP in A’Ja Wilson.”
If Wilson gets it, that would be her fourth MVP award. Despite a sluggish start to the season, she carried the Aces, putting up 23.4 points, 10.2 rebounds, and 3.1 assists.
“It’s a shame”: A’Ja Wilson and Aces’ streak ends against the Storm
The Aces’ run finally hit a wall.

Seattle Storm took Game 2 of their first-round playoff clash, snapping the Aces’ winning streak and forcing a do-or-die showdown. Las Vegas had the home crowd behind them, but the breaks fell Seattle’s way.
Coach Becky Hammon knew the next game wouldn’t be easy.
“It’s going to be a much closer game. It’s a different game. No points carry over. It’s going to be hard to match the emotional energy of this team,” Hammon said. “It just is. Survival is a different attitude.”
Hammon didn’t hide her frustration either.
“It’s a shame. I feel like we let that one go,” she added.
Wilson still put up 21 points and 13 rebounds, but it wasn’t enough to stop the Storm from pushing the series to a rubber match. The winner will move on to face whoever comes out on top between the Indiana Fever and the Atlanta Dream.
