A’ja Wilson, center for the Las Vegas Aces, is a strong contender for the MVP race in this WNBA season. However, there is also another contender in the list in Minnesota Lynx’s Napheesa Collier, and many have been debating about who will win the title between these two highly talented ladies.
Indiana Fever head coach Stephanie White spoke out about this season’s MVP race, and she had an interesting point, which was brought to attention. White spoke to reporters before her team could meet the Lynx a couple of days back, and admitted that while both Wilson and Collier have had super-impressive seasons, the two have also had differing durations on the court as a result of injuries. This can definitely sway the possibilities of an MVP award.

“Oh, come on now. You know, I think it’s really tough, because especially when you’ve had players who have missed a lot of time with injury, I think that makes it really tough. Napheesa missed some time with an injury, then A’ja and the Aces have kind of surged during that time. I think they’ve both had incredible seasons.” Indiana Fever head coach, Stephanie White, explained to reporters about the chances of A’ja Wilson and Napheesa Collier winning the MVP award.

While A’ja Wilson and the Las Vegas Aces will soon be taking on the Seattle Storm in the first round of the playoffs, Napheesa Collier and the Minnesota Lynx will lock horns with the Golden State Valkyries, who have made it to the playoffs in their very first season in the league.
