A’ja Wilson’s trophy case is overflowing — and even her boyfriend, Miami Heat star Bam Adebayo, knows he can’t keep up.
On Thursday’s episode of The Timeout on YouTube, Dwyane Wade recalled a funny exchange with Adebayo while they were in Paris for the 2024 Olympics.

“I remember, I got a chance to sit with Bam (Adebayo) at the Olympics,” Wade said (32:15). “We were in Paris and we both were there to watch our women play. We were sitting on the opposite side, I had some pizza, had a box of pizza on me, eating, chilling.
“We were just talking about A’ja (Wilson) as a hooper and we talked about future plans, hopefully one day. Bam cracked me up when he was just like, ‘Man, my little award case.’ He was like, ‘Bro, I ain’t got a chance. She’s so cold.'”
Adebayo even joked that Wilson’s hardware looked more like a decorated high school trophy cabinet than a personal collection.
The WNBA made sure Bam Adebayo was part of A’ja Wilson’s historic moment, too. On Sunday, commissioner Cathy Engelbert invited him to the Las Vegas Aces’ facility to hand her the MVP trophy — her fourth in just seven seasons.
“She’s on the track to be the GOAT”: Wade on A’ja Wilson’s legacy
Wade didn’t just laugh at Bam’s reaction. He doubled down on his admiration for A’ja Wilson, saying she’s on pace to define the game.

“She’s perfect superstar,” Wade said on Thursday (33:19), via The Timeout. “She’s 29 years old. So obviously she’s on the track to be the GOAT of the game. The accolades are going to go and speak, speak. But she has so much more work to do.”
He continued: “She is setting the bar so extremely high for so many future young ladies, young women who’s going to play this game. Not just winning MVPs, not just winning championships… she’s a role model. I am not saying she is trying to be one or not, she is.”
Wade even noted that if his own daughter wanted to pursue sports, he’d send her straight to Wilson’s camps and workshops for inspiration.
