A’ja Wilson had another impressive performance last season, becoming the first WNBA player to achieve the 1,000-point mark. After a tough playoff loss, Wilson warns the league that she and the Las Vegas Aces are set to redeem themselves and make another Finals run in 2025.
Moreover, Wilson got her third MVP in 2024, joining four more WNBA legends in having the most MVPs in the league. She averaged 26.9 points, 11.9 rebounds, and league-leading 2.9 blocks in 38 games.
However, the former South Carolina Gamecocks’ accolades failed to translate into her team’s postseason success.
The Aces were 27-13 in the regular season, considerably dropping from 34-6 in 2023. They won the first round against the Seattle Storm but fell against the eventual champions New York Liberty in the semifinals.

Recognizing her team’s shortcomings, A’Ja Wilson went to Threads last Monday to declare her desire to make amends for the 2025 stint.
“Got all my tears out cause come season time I’m not dropping a tear,” Wilson wrote in her first Threads post.
Wilson further reinforced her words, replying to a fan’s comment:
“Mark my words!” she added.
A’ja Wilson launches signature shoes upcoming May
Basketball fans will have the chance to experience A’ja Wilson‘s style through her new Nike A’One shoes, which will be released by May. It maintains unique features along with Wilson’s personal touches.

The Las Vegas Aces star shared thoughts about her upcoming signature shoes, looking forward to delivering versatility to young athletes:
“The A’One is meant to go the distance, taking control from the jump and dominating the floor on every play,” Wilson said.
Nike first unveiled A’ja Wilson’s shoe in the spring of 2024 when she was named a signature athlete for the brand. She’ll also return to the WNBA spotlight in the same month her signature shoes are released.
A’ja Wilson’s college jersey officially retired
A’ja Wilson was emotional when she witnessed the South Carolina Gamecocks retiring her No.22 jersey last Sunday. Before the Gamecocks’ match against Auburn, Wilson shared her reaction to the milestone:
“South Carolina shaped me, not just as an athlete but as a person,” Wilson said. “As I look in the rafters and see my jersey, I am reminded how important it is to chase your dreams without fear.”
“It’s a privilege to be a Gamecock, to be a part of this community.”

A’ja Wilson had a commendable run with South Carolina. Not only did she win a championship with them in 2017, but she is also their all-time leader with 2,389 points and 363 blocks. Her impact with her alma mater continues as the Gamecocks continue their national pedigree until today.
