Alyssa Thomas and her girlfriend, DeWanna Bonner will soon become part of a new WNBA team in the coming season. Thomas is listed as a free agent and will be hunting for a new team in the upcoming season, along with Bonner whose contract has also ended. The two players were part of the Connecticut Sun and will be most likely looking for a new deal with another team as a package.
While Thomas has never confirmed this in public, signs of the duo moving out of the Connecticut Sun are definitely there. Thomas is currently gearing up for the inaugural season of the Unrivaled League, where she will play for the Laces basketball club.
“Alyssa Thomas is the kind of player that you hate to have to play against, but you absolutely want on your team. You don’t want to let her go for nothing.” Terrika Foster-Brasby said to Natalie Esquire on ‘On Her Turf’.
“I also think it’s fair that I think most of us assume that DeWanna and Alyssa are going to be a package deal. … You also have to consider what’s going to be best personally for the family, for things of that nature, and so it’s a very complicated situation.” she continued.
Alyssa Thomas and DeWanna Bonner got engaged back in 2023 after being teammates for the Connecticut Sun since 2020. The two veterans share quite a bit of expertise and experience between them and will be a package blessing for any team which decides to take them in.

Alyssa Thomas And Laces BC Scheduled To Play First Unrivaled Game On Saturday
Meanwhile, Alyssa Thomas seems to be quite excited to play in the inaugural season of the Unrivaled League as part of the Laces basketball club. Thomas will play for the Laces along with Jackie Young, Kayle McBride, Tiffany Hayes, Stefanie Dolson, and Kate Martin. While the league itself will be inaugurated on January 17th, the Laces can be seen first in action on January 18th as they play against the Phantom basketball club.

On the same day, the Lunar Owls basketball club will also be playing against the Rose basketball club to continue the Unrivaled schedule in the inaugural season. Thomas and the rest of the Laces basketball club will be coached by Andrew Wade, who previously worked as an assistant coach for the Washington Mystics in the WNBA. The brand-new league will feature a 3-on-3 style of play and has basketball fans all over the world at the edge of their seats in excitement.
