Chicago Sky star Angel Reese has seemingly started doing some recruitment work for her WNBA team. Ahead of the Unrivaled 3×3 league’s season opener on Friday, the star forward has started working out with her Rose Basketball Club teammates, including Kahleah Copper.
Many fans showed love to the duo of Reese and Copper when the Rose BC’s official Instagram account posted a clip of the two practicing together. The “Chi-Town Barbie” herself reacted to the video, teasing Copper, a Phoenix Mercury guard, to join the Sky.

“Granny (Copper) to Chicago on 3. 1…2…3,” Angel Reese wrote in her comment.
The All-Star forward raved about the privileges she enjoys as a participant in the Unrivaled League. She took to X to talk about the activities she did while inside the league’s headquarters.
“We get to workout, use the weight room, create new bonds/friendships, get treatment, get massages, use the sauna, getting 2 meals a day, and then a facial before I leave for the day??? yeah i love it here,” Reese said.

Originally selected by the Washington Mystics in the 2016 WNBA Draft, Kahleah Copper was traded to the Chicago Sky the following season. She re-signed in 2020 and was elevated to a starting role during the season that was played in a “bubble” during the pandemic She became an All-Star for the first time in 2021 and was named Finals MVP after helping Chicago win their first WNBA title.

Copper signed another two-year, $490,118 contract with the Sky in 2022, helping the team reach the playoffs, but lost in the semifinals. In February 2024, the Sky traded her to Phoenix in exchange for Michaela Onyenwere, Brianna Turner, Kamilla Cardoso (the 2024 No. 3 pick), a 2025 second-round pick from Chicago, a 2026 first-round pick, and the right to swap 2026 second-round.
After playing seven seasons in Chicago, the four-time WNBA All-Star felt something was missing, saying she needed to be in a professional environment.
Angel Reese could team up with Sky’s former lottery pick
While Angel Reese is doing her own “recruiting” for the Chicago Sky, the team’s front office is also looking for players to reinforce coach Tyler Marsh’s roster in the coming season.

Former Sky point guard Courtney Vandersloot could be back in Chicago this offseason. According to the Chicago Sun-Times, Sky GM Jeff Pagliocca could be interested in bringing Vandersloot, who left the Sky to join the New York Liberty in 2023, back from free agency.
Meanwhile, Gabby Williams and Kahleah Copper, both former Sky players, do not seem fond of returning to Chicago.
