In competitive, professional sports, stats and abilities are always on full display. Comparisons and head-to-heads are things that fans and experts look at. But Angel Reese made fans stop and listen when she dismissed comparisons to other stars in her own way. During a Scoop B Radio session, the Sky forward delivered that perfect one-liner.

“I think everybody has their own pace. Everybody wants me to do everything on their time and I do things at my own time and I don’t let anybody speed me up. I continue to work… nobody’s giving me jump shots,” Reese said. “Everybody’s guarding me up so I’m going to blow by them every chance that they get… I know I’m just continuing to get better and just continue to build confidence.”

Her comments sparked a surge of praise online. Reddit fans responded with “That’s the attitude of a superstar—built on her own terms.” On Twitter, another chimed in: “Love how Reese owns her journey. She carves her lane.”

And that journey has been record-setting. Angel Reese became the fastest player in WNBA history to 20 career double-doubles, doing it in just 27 games. She followed that with 26 double-doubles in one season—a league record.

That dedication beyond speed is what she’s leaned on. A piece on SB Nation called her resilience “pressure turned to diamonds,” noting how she silences critics with stats.

Through all her hustle and growth, Angel Reese stays focused—her pace, her terms, her legacy unfolding. She’s not rushing records. She’s redefining them.

What Records Is Angel Reese Chasing With Her Double-Double Dominance?

Angel Reese settles for nothing less than consistent excellence. On the way to making WNBA history, she’s woven major milestones through her rookie and sophomore seasons.

She reached 20 double-doubles faster than anyone—just 27 games into her career—and set the mark for most in a season with 26. That streak also included 15 consecutive double-doubles.

Fans and analysts took notice. A commenter on a fan forum remarked, “She’s not chasing records—she’s setting them, and changing expectations for every big/forward that comes after.” Meanwhile, critics questioned her rim-hunting, but Angel didn’t back down—leaning in and keeping every board.

Beyond stats, Reese’s confidence is building. Her quote about time and pace cut deeper than any leaderboard. It’s why many see her as a player built for seasons to come, not just rookie hype.

So as the 2025 season wraps, every eye is on what Angel Reese does next. Double-doubles are her claim to fame, but the records she’s targeting may be something even bigger.
