Chicago Sky star Angel Reese expressed her excitement over how the team have creatively revealed their schedule for the upcoming 2025 season of the WNBA.
The WNBA recently dumped a huge chunk of information to its fans, revealing not just the schedule for the upcoming season, but also thrilling rivalries and matchups to watch out for. With these things considered, the social media team of Chicago Sky did not fail to deliver when it comes to having their own way of announcing their schedule.
Over at the team’s official X account, Chicago Sky made a witty video following the “suspect” trend on TikTok, giving their opponent teams their own “suspect” description.
To the Indiana Fever, where the Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark rivalry would once again be revisited, they had to say: “Suspect’s fans are always @-ing us in the comments.”
To the New York Liberty, they said: “Suspect won the championship but is still second-best in pizza.”
They also threw a fun shade towards the Las Vegas Aces and reigning MVP A’Ja Wilson: “Suspect almost had a three-peat but it wasn’t in the cards.”
To the Seattle Storm, they only had one thing to say: “Suspect just got a lot going on right now.”
Most fans found the creativity of the video funny and witty, that even fans of the teams that were trolled by the post had a laugh about it as well.
Of course, Sky’s very own Angel Reese did not let the chance to express herself pass by.
“Proud of our PR team,” she said. “We ate that up.”
To that, fans had a mix of reaction to Reese’s lauding of the Sky’s PR team, with some even joking that they thought it was her idea all along.
Angel Reese vs Caitlin Clark Rivalry Promoted by The WNBA?
The WNBA 2025 schedule opens with a game with the new team in the league, the Golden State Valkyries, against the Los Angeles Spark. After that, only two days into the season, fans would witness the face off between the Chicago Sky and Indiana Fever, where Angel Reese and Caitlin Clark play, respectively.
While the two star players never had any real beef, fans have always put them in a court rivalry, and even WNBA commissioner Cathy Engelbert acknowledges the fan rivalry.
“The one thing I know about sports, you need rivalry,” Engelbert said about the topic. “That’s what makes people watch, They want to watch games of consequence between rivals. They don’t want everybody being nice to one another.”
For the 2024 season of the WNBA, Angel Reese averaged 13.6 points per game, 13.1 rebounds, 1.9 assists, and a 39.1% field goal rate.
