Angel Reese wouldn’t say it again: she’s firmly on board with the calls for a stronger CBA and bigger paychecks in the WNBA. The “Bayou Barbie” has publicly backed the movement since the All-Star Weekend, where she and her fellow All-Stars made a statement by wearing the “Pay Us What You Owe Us” shirt to let fans and league execs know where they stand.

The CBA negotiations between the players’ union and the league began last week, but early signs aren’t promising for the players. The talks came as the WNBA’s revenue climbs in unknown values, yet for Reese and co., that growth hasn’t translated to their paychecks, and they don’t buy this.
In a recent sit-down with ESPN, Angel Reese didn’t mince words: higher salaries are non-negotiable, and they’ll continue to call for one.
“The team revenue. The revenue shares. That’s really important for us. We deserve it. I know were are not letting up. We are going to do whatever it takes to get what we deserve,” Reese said.

And Angel Reese isn’t just advocating, she’s inviting. She knows the consequences of joining in the fray, and she’s prepared. Thanks to her celebrity and endorsement status, Reese has tons of fans to back her up.
She made it clear that she’s staying active in the conversation: “I’m just going to continue to educate myself… I know my voice, I know my platform, and I know when I speak, people are listening,” Reese added.
Time is ticking for Angel Reese and every WNBA player as the CBA negotiations end in October, with the current agreement expiring then.
Angel Reese vocally supports CBA negotiations
With Angel Reese’s rising influence both on and off the court, fans knew she wasn’t just talking when she called for better pay. During All-Star Weekend, the Chicago Sky forward doubled down—saying sitting out the current CBA negotiations isn’t an option; it’s necessary for everyone.
“Yesterday was an eye-opener for me. It was disrespectful,” Reese said. This is for the next generation. It’s important to be able to be vocal. If I sit back, it looks like I don’t care. I know my voice and I know my platform. You love it or you hate it, I know it gets views. So I just know that I have to be vocal. I have to sit at that table one day.”
WNBPA leadership may be in Angel Reese’s future.

Angel Reese, sidelined due to a back injury, has made better use of her impact in the WNBA, and this speaks volumes. Having her, a rising star, is surely a factor in the ongoing negotiations.
