Angel Reese just returned to the court, and she’s still racking up wins. On Monday, one of her collective cards sold for a record-breaking figure, putting her in rare air—and drawing a nod from a sports icon’s relative.

Reese’s card, the Immaculate Collection Logowoman Autograph, was sold for a record $30,000 in an Alt Auction. For some, the amount might be small, but this became the “Bayou Barbie’s” most expensive sale ever. The Contenders Rookie Ticket Auto, her previous highest, sold $8.5k.

Alexis Ohanian, tech entrepreneur and tennis legend Serena Williams’ other half, didn’t miss Angel Reese’s off-court flex. After news broke of her record-setting card sale, Ohanian, co-founder of Reddit, shared the moment on his Instagram story, writing: “We just another record sale.”
Angel Reese’s Monday milestone, while not as big as records such as being the fastest player to get 500 points and 500 rebounds, just proves that her influence remains deeply strong. In fact, she already signed with an exclusive trading card company, Panini America, on April 10, 2024.
“Angel is an outstanding talent and an electric player, and we are excited to welcome her to the Panini family as an exclusive athlete,” Jason Howarth, senior vice president of Panini America, said.

However, while Reese finally enters the collection elites, she wasn’t the first WNBA player to be hailed at the trading card market. Her college rival, Caitlin Clark, set the market on fire with her Panini Flawless Platinum Rookie selling for a staggering $660k just this July, smashing her previous, $366k record of Panini Prizm. And there is more to come.
Angel Reese’s influence is indeed undeniable, but some areas, such as in card collection, make it clear that she’s yet to take over.
Angel Reese was stellar on her return despite loss to Washington
Angel Reese didn’t just return—she roared back. After sitting out three games with a back injury, the Chicago Sky star wasted no time making her presence felt Tuesday night against the Mystics. She dropped a commanding 22 points and grabbed 13 rebounds, another double-double to extend her already stacked sophomore résumé.

However, Angel Reese’s feat, the third longest in WNBA history, wasn’t enough, and the Mystics still dominated the Sky throughout the match, ending 103-86. And to make things worse for Chicago, they’re already on a six-game losing skid. They’re now 7-19 in the standings, the second worst in the league. Hopefully, Reese’s squad will be able to come back against the Golden State Valkyries on Friday.
