Angel Reese’s offseason hasn’t been quiet. Fresh off voicing her frustration about the Chicago Sky’s season and roster, she’s found herself in the middle of both criticism and support.
Former NBA big man Etan Thomas weighed in on the situation in BasketballNews on Friday. He admitted Reese crossed a line by putting her teammates on blast in public, but argued that the Sky’s decision to suspend her only made things worse.

“First and foremost, while I agree that Angel Reese broke a cardinal rule, which is that you simply don’t criticize your own teammates to the media… However, those plans seemed to have quickly backfired,” Thomas wrote. He pointed out how fans quickly rallied behind Reese, blasting Chicago’s front office and accusing them of punishing her for “telling the truth.”
The controversy started after Angel Reese spoke to the Chicago Tribune on September 3, where she didn’t hold back about the team’s 10–34 finish. She stressed that Chicago needed to land stronger talent this offseason, even offering to help recruit, while also hinting she might consider her own options outside of the city.
The Sky responded with a half-game suspension and a promise to make roster changes, but the tension hasn’t died down.
“CC And Angel? I’m Selling Out On Everything”: Gilbert Arenas Wants Angel Reese in Indiana
And now the conversation has shifted toward what happens if Reese really does move on. Former NBA guard Gilbert Arenas took to Threads with a bold pitch: send her to Indiana.

“If I’m the Indiana Fever, I’m making a push for Angel. CC and Angel??? I’m selling out everything I’m selling!!” Arenas wrote, pushing the idea of Caitlin Clark and Reese suiting up together.
He added that the fit makes perfect sense. Clark as the outside weapon, Reese as the inside enforcer. “Nobody would be bullying CC with Angel on the court 💯,” he said.
For Chicago, Reese was supposed to be the cornerstone piece. But after a season full of tension and a rocky ending, the possibility of a blockbuster move is suddenly real — and the thought of a Clark–Reese pairing is enough to light up the league.
