Angel Reese will become a Finals MVP one day and will even surpass some of the greatest names in the league, such as Brittney Griner. At least, that is what one podcast host boldly states in one video.

In one of the recent episodes of the Moreau Sports Media Prod Co. podcast, program co-host DJ expressed his strong faith in the skills and the future of Angel Reese in the WNBA. For him, Reese has the potential to surpass MVPs and become one herself, and even surpass the record of two-time Defensive Player of the Year and ten-time All-Star Brittney Griner.

“I think she’s gonna be a future MVP in the WNBA,” DJ said. “I think she’s gonna win a [Defensive Player of The Year].” I’m putting this on record. I think before her career is done, she will have a better career than Jonquel [Jones], and she’ll have a better career than Brittney Griner.

“Her potential is limitless,” he added.

Jordan & DJ discuss Angel Reese’s potential.

DJ: “She has limitless potential…when it’s all said and done, I think she will be better than Jonquel Jones & Brittney Griner.”

While Angel Reese has received praise and accolades so far, with only one season into the WNBA, her career record still has a lot to ask for if the aim is to compare her with established veterans in the league, like Brittney Griner.

During her rookie season, Reese was named to the WNBA All-Rookie Team and selected as a WNBA All-Star in her debut season. Reese also led the league in rebounds, averaging 13.1 rebounds per game, and set records for the most double-doubles by a rookie with 26 and consecutive games with a double-double at 15.

On the other hand, Brittney Griner is one of the most decorated players in WNBA history, with a career that includes being a ten-time WNBA All-Star and winning the WNBA championship in 2014. She has been named Defensive Player of the Year twice (2014 and 2015) and led the league in blocks for an incredible eight seasons. Griner also holds the record for the most blocks in a single game (11) and has been a consistent presence on All-WNBA and All-Defensive teams throughout her career.

Angel Reese Sends Thought to JuJu Watkins Over Injury

Angel Reese did not fail to be part of the thoughts and prayers sent the way of USC star JuJu Watkins, as the latter suffered a season-ending injury that would make her miss the rest of the NCAA tournament.
