Chicago Sky star Angel Reese recently got awarded a trophy for her rebounding, but one analyst is not fully convinced about the recognition.
In a recent post on X, analyst Rachel DeMita expressed her curiosity about the rebounding trophy that Angel Reese got for the 2025 regular season. She questioned if this was something new, or something that has been done already.

“I mean absolutely no shade when I ask this, because I truly do not know.” DeMita said. “Does the WNBA always give out ‘Rebounding Leader’ trophies? Do they do this for scoring and assists also?”

Throughout the season, Angel Reese was both praised and criticized for her focus on rebounding. For her fans, her numbers prove that he is a rebounding force to reckon. On the other hand, critics have pointed out that she gets most of her rebounds from her missed shots, which leads to misleadingly inflated stats.
Eventually, critics started using the term “mebounds,” to describe Reese getting rebounds from her missed shots. Later on, Reese capitalized on the ridicule and filed a trademark for the word “mebounds,” which she eventually used as a merch line for her online store.
Is an Angel Reese Trade Coming? “It’s a Non-Negotiable for Me”
Angel Reese has publicly urged the Chicago Sky to take a more aggressive approach in the upcoming WNBA free-agency period, saying the team “can’t settle” after consecutive losing seasons. As the Sky wrapped up a 9–30 campaign, Reese, who remains under contract through 2027, told the Chicago Tribune she’s already pressing management to acquire “good players” and “great players” this winter to reverse the franchise’s recent struggles.

“I’m not settling for the same s***we did this year,” Reese told The Chicago Tribune. “We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me.”
Despite the “threat,” Reese is not closing her doors to giving everything for the team.
“I’m willing and wanting to play with the best,” she added. “And however I can help to get the best here, that’s what I’m going to do this offseason. So it’s going to be very, very important this offseason to make sure we attract the best of the best because we can’t settle for what we have this year.”
This season, Angel Reese averaged 14.7 points per game, 12.6 rebounds, and 3.7 assists. She shot at 45% from the field and 18.2% from beyond the arc.
