The Chicago Sky just wrapped up another tough season, but the way it ended might sting the most. Over the past few weeks, Angel Reese has been at the center of it all after voicing her frustrations with what already looks like a dysfunctional program.
The Sky closed with a 10-34 record, well outside the playoff picture and facing the real possibility of losing their star forward. Reese did her part on the floor, averaging 14.7 points per game, but she also made it clear in a Chicago Tribune interview that changes need to happen.

Despite her production, the organization has responded by clamping down. Reese was suspended for half a game and, more recently, silenced again when the team announced she would not take part in end-of-season exit interviews.
According to Noa Dalzell, Chicago also pulled veteran leaders Ariel Atkins and Courtney Vandersloot from those sessions, a move that stunned fans, media, and even some around the league. For many, it felt like the team’s way of saying they’d had enough of Reese’s public criticism.

The spark came in early September, when Reese told Tribune reporter Julia Poe she expected a major overhaul.
“I’m not settling for the same s*** we did this year. We have to get good players. We have to get great players. That’s a non-negotiable for me,” Reese said.
“I’m willing and wanting to play with the best. And however I can help to get the best here, that’s what I’m going to do this offseason. So it’s going to be very, very important this offseason to make sure we attract the best of the best because we can’t settle for what we have this year.”
“WE GOT THINGS TO GET READY FOR”: Angel Reese returns to the gym
Just 11 days after the season ended, Angel Reese was already back to work. Following a short trip to South America, she hit the gym to sharpen her game and posted her mindset on Instagram:
“WE BACK. WE GOT THINGS TO GET READY FOR.”
She also reshared a clip from trainer Iren Rainey, showing her focused on mid-range shooting reps. Whether her future stays in Chicago or takes her elsewhere, Reese made one thing clear — she’s preparing for another season and a serious push for a WNBA title.
