“Sterling’s Racism, NCAA Inequalities Btwn Men/Women Both Required Public Disclosure”: Angel Reese Defended As Natalie Esquire Destroys Candace Parker Over Sky Comments

The spotlight in the WNBA is firmly on Angel Reese after her blunt remarks about the Chicago Sky’s disappointing season. Her comments drew plenty of reactions, including one from league legend Candace Parker, who wasn’t a fan of how Reese handled it.

On the latest Post Moves show, Parker said those frustrations should have been kept behind closed doors instead of aired out publicly.

That take didn’t sit well with everyone. Natalie Esquire, a two-time Sports Emmy Award winner and WNBA reporter for NBC Sports, countered Parker’s point on X.

“Haven’t multiple former Sky players spoken publicly about the org? So if it hasn’t resolved already, I don’t think keeping it in-house will produce a better/different result,” Esquire wrote.

She added that some issues only change when they’re exposed.

“Sterling’s racism, NCAA inequities btwn men/women both required public disclosure for changes to occur.”

Parker hasn’t responded yet, though she may revisit the topic on her podcast next week.

Gilbert Arenas Backs Caitlin Clark in Push for Angel Reese

While the Sky deal with internal tension, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas decided to take the conversation in another direction: moving Reese to Indiana.

Arenas believes pairing Reese with Caitlin Clark could give the Fever a one-two punch unlike anything in the league.

“If I’m the Indiana Fever, I’m making a push for Angel. CC and Angel??? I’m selling out everything I’m selling!!” Arenas posted on Threads.

He broke down why the idea makes sense.

“Caitlin Clark and Angel Reese would be a dangerous duo because they do different things and play different positions. Nobody would be bullying CC with Angel on the court 💯.”

Reese was supposed to be Chicago’s franchise cornerstone, but her future looks cloudy. Dallas Hoops Journal’s Ashish Mathur reported that team officials were unhappy with her public remarks and could explore trade scenarios this offseason.

If Arenas’ vision came to life, Indiana would instantly gain a new identity: Clark stretching the floor with her shooting, Reese adding toughness and rebounding.

From rivals to teammates, the thought of Clark and Reese sharing the same jersey has fans buzzing. The only question is whether the Fever — or the Sky — would actually pull the trigger.
