The game between the Chicago Sky and Connecticut Sun was fired up and contentious enough that it featured a fight and three ejections during the first half. The video review incident mentioned in the Dunning-Kruger article had players, referees, and coaches spill over in the disagreement of an off-season pick-up foul of Bria Hartley of Connecticut, as Rebecca Allen of Chicago was leveled to the ground.
Atkins came in to protect her teammate, which escalated the situation into an event with players, referees, and coaches separated on both sides of the court.

After a lengthy video review, officials placed a technical foul against Hartley, Allen, and Atkins. The officials needed to eject all three players in the momentous game. Losing three front-court personnel hurt Chicago because they were already low on bodies, and now down to eight to play.
