Chicago Sky power forward Angel Reese took to social media to express her support for Cherelle T. Griner, wife of Phoenix Mercury center Brittney Griner.
In an Instagram post, Cherelle Griner posted a photo of herself with a caption that celebrated her being part of the Alpha Kappa Alpha sorority.
She captioned her photo: “A very blessed girl to have gained a lifetime of sisters 💗💚”

Angel Reese commented with heart emojis to congratulate Griner, and Las Vegas Aces center A’Ja Wilson also congratulated Griner with a “Hey sister!!”
The Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority was founded in 1908 and was the first Gree-letter organization founded by college African American women. It holds significant cultural importance as it was founded at a time when African American women had limited opportunities in education and leadership.
As time went on, the AKA sorority became a platform for African American women to come together and support each other toward academic and social progress.
Angel Reese Received $2000 for a $200 Fine
Earlier this year, Angel Reese received a double technical foul in one of Chicago Sky’s games against the New York Liberty. She was initially called for a fifth foul and was given two consecutive technical fouls due to their complaining to the officiating.
Chicago Bulls guard Lonzo Ball took to social media saying he would pay Reese’s fine over that technical. He eventually did, but seemed to have gone way above the amount on the receipt.
In one of Angel Reese’s “Unapologetically Angel” podcast episodes, she revealed that her fine was only originally for $200, but Ball sent her $200 to pay for it.
“You gave me $2,000,” Reese told Ball during her podcast. “Do you know how much my fine actually was? It was only $200.”
“That was a terrible tech,” Ball said about the topic. “I was actually at that game, my first WNBA game ever.”
Angel Reese’s wallet has been a topic in the past, with the Chicago Sky star previously going on record about how her WNBA salary was not able to pay even one of her bills. Later on, Reese debunked online claims that her net worth was at $2 million. While she did not give any specific number, she called the two-mil estimate to be “way off.”
The $200 was only for one count of the tech foul, but with the amount of money she received, Angel Reese definitely had it covered already.
