Angel Reese‘s misfortunes continued on Tuesday’s loss against the Washington Mystics, where the Chicago Sky narrowly lost by just two points. And for the “Bayou Barbie,” the blame’s still on the same issue: the poor officiating on the court, and she wasn’t very delighted about it.
And Reese made sure she would send a message. With half a minute left in a 79-all deadlock game, Chicago was called for a foul, but the team challenged it. As the players went to the bench, awaiting the results, the former LSU standout knocked a clipboard out of the hands of Ann Crosby, the Sky’s VP of basketball operations, strength, and conditioning.
Such an incident was recorded live, prompting spectators to wonder what really frustrated Angel Reese. However, the star forward quickly went to X to explain that the outburst was due to the boiling tensions in the game.
“Those **** were pissing me off😭 shoutout to Ann because she know it was the heat of the moment and she didn’t let me apologize because she knew! Not happening again tho🤦🏽♀️😭,” Reese tweeted.

The game didn’t end well for Angel Reese and Chicago, but it’s not because of her antics. In fact, she even tied the score at 79 with 14 seconds left, but Elizabeth Williams fouled the Mystics’ Shakira Austin with two seconds left, prompting her to shoot two free throws, 81-79.

Tuesday’s match is devastating for Chicago, as they suffered their second consecutive loss and the thirteenth of the season. Angel Reese led her team with 22 points, 15 rebounds (13 defensive), and four assists on 5-of-9 shooting.
Angel Reese Unfazed after Another Heartbreaking Loss
Perhaps the most painful out of Angel Reese and the Sky’s losses are their close games. Besides the loss against Washington, the team also lost by just five points against the Minnesota Lynx on Sunday, 80-75.

Speaking in Tuesday’s post-game interview, the “Bayou Barbie” talked about how the Sky is now locked in as they play again on Wednesday against Paige Bueckers and the Dallas Wings.
“We have an opportunity in 24 hours to play this game again,” Reese said. “It sucks right now especially when we feel we’re right there. We have to continue to push through. We have to get back up tomorrow.”

Despite the recent losses, Angel Reese and the Sky are clearly trending upward. Earlier in the season, blowouts were the norm–now, they’re pushing elite teams to the brink. Time will tell whether they’ll rise as the underdogs in the league.
