Angel Reese and the Chicago Sky fell 94-84 to the Connecticut Sun on Saturday, but the game’s turning point wasn’t just on the scoreboard. Midway through the second quarter, assistant coach Tyler Marsh was tossed after a furious reaction to a missed call on Kamilla Cardoso.
Cardoso appeared to be wrapped up by a Sun defender on a shot attempt, but no whistle came. Marsh bolted from his chair, stormed toward the referee, and angrily swung his arm in protest—without making contact. The outburst was enough to earn him an immediate ejection.

His wife, Kiara Marsh, summed up the frustration on X with a blunt post: “SICK OF IT.”
SICK OF IT.

The incident quickly made the rounds, fueling a larger conversation about officiating inconsistencies that players like Reese have openly criticized all season. Marsh’s eruption was seen by many as echoing the same frustrations his star forward has voiced, furthering the pressure on the league’s referees.
“The game can be taken away from you at any time”: Angel Reese reflects after playoff exit
The loss to Connecticut also sealed Chicago’s playoff fate, officially knocking them out of the postseason race. For Angel Reese, the disappointment turned into reflection on what’s next for her young squad.

“I’m sure that all of us aren’t going to be on this team next year together,” Reese told Winsidr. “So, I know we’ll lose some teammates, have some trades happen, it’s part of the game. So just enjoy each other, because I really did enjoy this team this year, and these players, and these vets.”
She added, “The game can be taken away from you at any time, so just maximize it.”
The Sky will return with Reese, her frontcourt partner Kamilla Cardoso, and rookies Hailey Van Lith and Maddy Westbeld all under contract through 2025. But beyond that core, change is coming. With roster spots likely to open and a chance to retool, Chicago could look to build more firmly around Reese—the “Chi-Town Barbie”—as they aim to bounce back in 2026.
