Being a WNBA All-Star has its perks — and sometimes, it means accidentally bumping other celebs off the VIP list. Just ask Sydel Curry-Lee, sister of NBA superstar Steph Curry, who had her bachelorette party plans thrown into chaos thanks to none other than Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese.

On Monday’s episode of Straight to Cam, hosted by LA Sparks’ Cameron Brink and Rae Burrell, Curry-Lee shared a hilarious and unexpected story about how Reese took her table at a Phoenix nightclub during last year’s WNBA All-Star weekend.

Curry-Lee had booked the club, Pretty Please, a full month in advance for one of her best friends’ bachelorette parties. But what didn’t she account for? The All-Star crowd rolling deep in town that same weekend, and Reese being the headliner.

“We show up to the club, and that night, it was the W’s party, or Angel Reese was supposed to be there that night,” Curry-Lee recalled. “Angel Reese took my table, y’all!”

Despite the pre-booking, Curry-Lee was told at the door that her reservation had mysteriously vanished. Turns out, the table had been handed over to the WNBA rookie phenom — likely due to the star-studded chaos of the weekend.

Still, the club made good on the mix-up. Curry-Lee and her crew were refunded and invited back the next day to make up for the All-Star shuffle.

Angel Reese Steps Into Big Sister Mode for Hailey Van Lith

While the nightclub drama was all in good fun, Angel Reese’s real focus heading into her second year in the WNBA is serious business — leading by example, both on and off the court.

With the Chicago Sky adding Hailey Van Lith, Reese’s former LSU teammate and the No. 2 overall pick, Reese is stepping into a “big sister” role this season.

“I know a lot of pressure is probably on her from the outside,” Reese said. “I know how it is being the big name coming to town, expected to do big things. Just being that ‘big sister’, I guess, kind of to her this year is super important for her.”

After a rookie season that ended with a tough wrist injury, Reese knows exactly how tough the WNBA grind can be. But she’s back stronger and ready to lift the next wave of young talent alongside her.

From viral moments off the court to real leadership on it, Angel Reese continues to show she’s more than just a star — she’s building something bigger.
