“She Is Brand-Protection Mode”: Angel Reese Branded ‘Toxic’ As Jason Whitlock Alleges Sky Star Is Faking Injury To Avoid Losing In Chicago

Angel Reese, Chicago Sky sophomore, hasn’t escaped injury woes as she has been sidelined since July due to a back injury. However, Jason Whitlock, a heavy critic of the “Bayou Barbie,” noticed barely an update about her injury so far, sparking him to make a fierce claim about Reese.

To make things more confusing, the Sky has yet to give a timetable for Reese’s return — fueling tons of rumors and speculations. However, for Whitlock, it was all he needed to declare it done and dusted. On Instagram, the “Fearless” show host claimed that Reese wasn’t injured but is purposely sitting out games since she knows her team is losing.

“Nothing but a mystery surrounds Angel Reese. Mysterious injury, no explanation, no timetable, day-to-day, a coach that doesn’t even know how to talk about it,” Whitlock said.

Whitlock didn’t hesitate to double down, further arguing that Angel Reese, knowing there’s barely any benefit in playing for Chicago, has quit them.

“Angel Reese doesn’t care about the Chicago Sky or the WNBA. She cares about what the Chicago Sky and the WNBA can do for her. And right now, with the Sky losing, it can’t do anything for her brand,” Whitlock added.

“And right now, with the Sky losing, it can’t do anything for her brand. So she’s in brand-protection mode and brand-building mode. And she has distanced herself from the Chicago Sky and her teammates.”

Angel Reese‘s absence was, in fact, the nail in the coffin for Chicago. Before her injury, she proved to everyone that she was just on par with her fellow rising stars, and she had even silenced critics and trolls. As of Friday, the Sky is now 8-24, 12th overall, in the league. Even the next season wouldn’t save them, as they have no good draft picks or players.

Jason Whitlock dubs Angel Reese “a worse Kawhi Leonard”

On his latest “Fearless” episode, Jason Whitlock didn’t hold back on Angel Reese’s back injury — handing her nicknames from “The Queen of Quit” to “disappeared.” His take was blunt, especially as Reese’s team, the Sky, is now 1-4 since her absence and their playoff chances are becoming worse.

“There’s nothing. There’s no information on Angel Reese. I think she’s quit on the season. I think this is a worse version of Kawhi Leonard,” he said.

While Angel Reese, averaging 18.6 points and 14.0 rebounds in her past 10 games, remains uncertain, she did provide fans with an update. On Tuesday, she attended team practice and made a post that read “In due time.”
