Chicago Sky star Angel Reese had recently expressed frustration and disappointment with how things have been handled from within the franchise, as well as how she has been handled, and supported long-running rumors of a trade out of the team.

In a recent press interview, Chicago Sky head coach Tyler Marsh broke the silence on the issue of Angel Reese and her expressed disappointment, as well as news of a potential trade coming.

“I haven’t read the whole article,” Marsh said, referring to the news of Angel opening up on the issue. “I’ve seen bits and pieces from it. So yea, we are aware of it. We’re addressing it in house as we’re currently speaking, so that’s [what we’ll] state right now.”

Despite this, the head coach assured that Reese remains dedicated to the team.

“I think that Angel has shown a commitment to wanting to be here,” he added. “I think that we as an organization continue to show a commitment that we want people that want to be here. And that we’re setting a lane, a foundation here, that we want to be sustainable, where we’re able to be a premier destination for all players. And so that’s kind of where we’re at.”

Angel Reese, in the past, ash exp[ressed that she wants to build her career with the Sky, but also hinted on moving to a different direction, “if that’s what’s best for me.”

Officiating Chief Explains Decision to Suspend Angel Reese

The WNBA announced Thursday that Chicago Sky forward Angel Reese will miss Friday’s game at Indiana after accruing her eighth technical foul of the regular season, triggering an automatic one-game suspension under league rules.

In an interview with CBS Sports, chief of officiating Randy Richardson explained the reasoning behind the decision to call the technical foul on Reese, which ultimately resulted in her suspension.

“Yeah, so we had a flail on the court,” Richardson said. “So we had a non-call on the court and then we went to take a look at it and we deemed that to be a non-basketball act by Reese and we ended up calling the flail an unsportsmanlike technical foul.”

Richardson explained that the flail happened when Reese’s arm hit Aaliyah Edwards on the back of her head, after the ball went into the basket. Ultimately, it was just deemed to be an “unsportsmanlike act.”

Any contact to the head like that, Richardson explained, would require a look for potential and

for the severity of the contact. After analysis, the officiating ultimately decided “it was just an unsportsmanlike act.”
