Apparently, while Angel Reese is great at trash talking, she isn’t the best at it—at least in Jerkaila Jordan’s opinion. For the Mississippi Stage guard, LA Sparks forward Rickea Jackson is a better trash talker than the Chicago Sky star.
In an Instagram posted by PostHer Hoops on Tuesday, Jordan was asked about the trash talk she received from both Reese and Jackson. She played against the two WNBA stars in college since all of their schools were in the Southeastern Conference (SEC). Jordan had both of them tied as the number-one trash talkers before changing her mind and saying Jackson was the best trash talker.
“Angel Reese or Rickea Jackson? Those are the two players I don’t wanna go into a trash talking competition,” Jordan prefaced. “They don’t stop, and not only that, but they’ll score on you too, so you can’t stop them. Once they score, they’re in your ear talking and it’s like, ‘There’s nothing you can do about it.'”
The MSU star continued, “If I had to pick number one, she (Jackson) will be number one. Even when we used to play at practice when she was at (MSU), she’ll talk. She doesn’t care who you are. She’ll talk trash to the players, the men’s practice players, everybody … When she steps on the court, she doesn’t care who you are.”

Jerkaila Jordan and Rickea Jackson teamed up in MSU during the 2021-22 season. At the time, Jordan transferred from Tulane, while Jackson was in her third season at MSU. The 2020 Gillom Trophy winner would move to Tennessee a year later to finish her collegiate career with the Volunteers.

Jackson would be selected as the 2024 WNBA Draft’s fourth-overall pick by the LA Sparks, while Reese would be picked seventh by the Chicago Sky. The two rising stars who had their share of battles in college would end up being two of the best rookies in the WNBA in the 2023-24 season.

Angel Reese and Rickea Jackson selected for the WNBA All-Rookie Team
The WNBA announced earlier this month its 2024 All-Rookie Team, headlined by Rookie of the Year Caitlin Clark of the Indiana Fever. Joining her are Chicago Sky’s Angel Reese and Kamilla Cardoso, LA Sparks’ Rickea Jackson, and New York Liberty’s Leonie Fiebich.

Reese and Cardoso were the first teammates to be named to the All-Rookie Team since the Minnesota Lynx’s Dorka Juhasz and Diamond Miller last season. Jackson was the first Sparks rookie to be awarded the honors since Ana Dabovic in 2015. Fiebich was instrumental in the Liberty winning the WNBA title this season.
Of the five, only Clark and Reese were in contention for the Rookie of the Year award.
