The unmerciful social media. It helps you gets seen, and seen you will really be. Angel Reese knows the game and is a player in it just as she is a player in the WNBA. That said, that doesn’t shield her from the brutal. The Chicago Sky forward, currently dealing with injury concerns, found herself targeted by former NFL wide receiver Antonio Brown after a clip of her twerking surfaced online.

Brown reposted the video with the caption: “P**y probably trash.”* The NSFW jab immediately drew backlash from fans who felt the retired star crossed the line. While Brown has built a reputation for stirring controversy with crude comments, directing one at Angel Reese struck a nerve, given the timing.

Reese has been out of action as she works through injury issues, but she has stayed visible on social media. Her decision to post carefree clips while sidelined split opinion among followers. Some applauded her for staying herself, while others argued she should keep a lower profile until her return.
Still, the incident shows how much of a lightning rod Angel Reese has become. She isn’t just a young athlete anymore; her every move is now under a microscope. From fans rallying under “Free Angel” signs to being a trending target of Antonio Brown, Reese continues to live in the space where basketball, culture, and internet chaos collide.
The Angel Reese saga is a saga of many faces: on the court, off the court, and even in the social media space.
The Sky, the Angel Reese, and Their Future
The Chicago Sky front office has made its position on Angel Reese clear despite the noise surrounding her name. General Manager Jeff Pagliocca stressed that she remains central to the team’s plans moving forward.

“Angel is an ascending young talent in this league who’s had two very, very good seasons here in Chicago,” Pagliocca told reporters. “Obviously, we went through what we did. I feel like we closed the chapter on it.”
Pagliocca added that Reese’s communication with the team has been steady. “She spoke to her teammates. She spoke publicly. We moved on as a team. She’s a special player. And I have good conversations with Angel daily, with her team daily. They’re constant, and they’re productive.”
The Sky’s stance highlights their confidence in Angel Reese, even while speculation about her future continues to swirl. For now, Chicago isn’t showing any signs of moving on from one of its most promising stars, though as always in sports, the story could change quickly.
