Angel Reese has been under heavy criticism in the past week after she openly talked about a potential strike in the WNBA if talks in the next collective bargaining agreement didn’t go as her colleagues wanted.
The vitriol appears to be carrying over to replies regarding Reese and a major achievement the rising basketball star made in the Unrivaled basketball league this year.
Reese, set to enter her second season in the WNBA as a forward for the Chicago Sky, has been participating as a rookie for the Rose BC in the Unrivaled league, a three-on-three professional women’s basketball league.
Reese has had a phenomenal campaign for Rose, leading the league in rebounds.
Angel Reese earned second-team All-Unrivaled

Per an announcement by Urivaled, Reese earned second-team All-Unrivaled honors for her play this season.

In the regular season, Reese averaged 13 points, 12 rebounds, and 1.9 assists per game. Reese was one of four players to average a double-double in league play, and the only rookie to do so. Reese will be the only rookie in the playoffs and the only rookie to make an All-Unrivaled team.
Fans react to Chicago Sky F Reese’s honor

Fans on social media reacted to the honor. Some fans praised Reese, while others complained that she shouldn’t be bragging because the league was small enough for her to earn first-team honors.
“SECOND string in a tiny 3X3 league in NOT something to be proud of, Angel Grease’s team BARELY had a winning record, was so nice of Stewie to play on a bad knee in this league where she now needs surgery with just 45 days till WNBA training camp starts and her team had a horrible 5-9 record,” wrote a fan.
“greatly disappointed during this tourny … she’s so skilled yet does not have that winning spirit… she’s can pass as one of the best w players currently but she not helping her fans by losing too much .. I feel like she does that take winning seriously,” posted another.
“Congratulations Angel and everyone else as well. Congratulations on an awesome 1st season,” praised one fan.
“12 rebounds per game. how many of which were on her own missed put-backs,” asked a fan.
“What a joke! There are 16 players with higher ppg average than Reese. She led the league in rebounds per game and personal fouls per game. Her points numbers won’t translate to the WNBA very well because free throws only count for a point,” argued another.
“In her first year. So proud of my rookie. Well deserved 5,” one fan said of Reese.
