Anthony Davis and the Los Angeles Lakers are off to a fantastic start in the 2024-25 NBA season. Not a few thought that the Lakers would have a hard time getting it together on the court, especially with an unproven head coach in JJ Redick calling the shots from the sidelines, but that’s clearly what’s happening in Tinseltown.

The Lakers are flourishing, as they improved to 3-0 after defeating the Sacramento Kings at home on Saturday night to the tune of a 131-127 score. Davis put up yet another sterling performance, but just as amazing in the Kings game was the seemingly ageless LeBron James.

The four-time NBA Most Valuable Player, who will turn 40 years old in December, had a triple-double against the Kings, recording 32 points, 14 rebounds, and 10 assists while shooting 12-for-22 from the floor in 34 minutes.

“Just when you think he’s slowing down, he continues to show the world why he’s the greatest,” Davis said of James after the game (h/t Lakers Daily).

Davis was superb as well. The former Kentucky Wildcats sustained his hot start to the season, as he muscled out 31 points on 10-for-15 shooting while adding nine boards, two assists, three steals, and two blocks in 38 minutes of stat-stuffing performance for the Lakers, who are averaging 121.3 points per game thus far.

After three contests at home, the Lakers will be tested away from Hollywood for the first time this season when they kick off a five-game road trip this coming Monday against the Phoenix Suns.
