The Atlanta Hawks in November appeared to be a team that might be a buyer in the market to upgrade their roster for possible playoff contention. They did it even if they were without Trae Young for 22 games and Kristaps Porzingis from time to time.

Now, it looks like they are about to sell some assets and possibly shelve this season.
The Hawks are currently on a six-game losing streak since the return of Young and rumors have it that they are about to move on from the four-time All-Star.
NBA insider Marc Stein says the Hawks are firmly entertaining the idea of moving past Young who had season-worst game on Saturday when he was limited to 9 points by the Atlanta Hawks. The reporter said in Stein Line:

There is a growing belief leaguewide that the Hawks are more open to trading him away than they’ve ever been, but what happens to their payroll if no such trade materializes and Young winds up exercising that option? Can the Hawks dare to find out by trading for Davis this winter without Young exiting at the same time?
Atlanta Hawks’ interest on Anthony Davis
Another trade rumor they are involved in is with the Dallas Mavericks for the chance to land Anthony Davis.
““The Hawks are a real-deal suitor for Davis. Just how far, though, are they willing to go in terms of a Davis offer?” Stein said in his podcast.
“Haynes also reported that Trae Young would not be included in such a swap, but that creates potential financial obstacles for a franchise not exactly known for lavish spending.”

Davis has been in and out of the Mavs line up and just recently, he picked up an injury and will likely miss a few games.
