Kristaps Porzingis has done it all in his NBA career. The Latvian international had been an All-Star and an NBA champion, among others, and he’s expected to be a key contributor for the Atlanta Hawks this upcoming season.

As Porzingis enters his 10th year in the Association, the 30-year-old is already looking ahead to what’s next after basketball. During a recent interview, Porzingis revealed he’s keen to pursue an MMA career when he hangs up his sneakers.
“MMA is a sport that is very close to my heart. Number one in terms of viewing. It is something that I am passionate about, which is why I decided to participate in a new MMA project. Everything is still in progress – when we get closer to the final result, I will be able to tell you more,” Porzingis told Sporta Centrs.

“This summer I played a little tennis and padel tennis – very good sports in the summer, especially in the fresh air. I have also tried my hand at MMA, but I promised one of the clubs I represented that I would not do it during my career. I am “saving up” to start an MMA career after basketball,” the Atlanta Hawks star added.
Atlanta Hawks News: Kristaps Porzingis continues to ball for Latvia
Atlanta Hawks center Kristaps Porzingis will play for the Latvian national team in the upcoming FIBA EuroBasket tournament. The Unicorn played well in Latvia’s 109-105 exhibition loss to Lithuania yesterday, as he contributed 22 points and five assists.

Latvia will face Slovenia this Saturday, as they continue to prepare for the showpiece event. Porzingis will go up against his former Dallas Mavericks co-star, Luka Doncic.
“I have a normal relationship with Luka Doncic. Of course, the time in Dallas didn’t work out. It’s a chapter that’s over. Since then, we’ve met a lot – the Celtics and the Mavericks faced each other in the Finals last year. In the European context, it seems like we haven’t played since 2017,” the Atlanta Hawks big man said about his relationship with Doncic via Eurohoops.
