Trae Young was not happy with how the Atlanta Hawks’ opening game turned out. The Toronto Raptors blew them out 138-118 at home, as the team never really found its rhythm at any point of the contest.

During the postgame press conference, Young, who had 22 points and five assists on 5-for-14 shooting from the field in 34 minutes of action, pointed out that they looked like a team that was still trying to figure out how to play together.
“I don’t think there are too many positives you take from tonight,” Young told ClutchPoints’ Malik Brown. “Obviously, the result was what it was, and it’s embarrassing the way we started it.”

“A lot of it comes from the preseason carryover,” he continued. “We didn’t really play, all 5 of us, and you can tell by the continuity we have out there, and it wasn’t right. That’s part of the NBA: the cream always rises to the top. We got some time to make it up, and we gotta get going.”
Atlanta Hawks News: Quin Snyder sends clear message to the team after losing to the Toronto Raptors
The Toronto Raptors clearly outplayed and outclassed the Atlanta Hawks at home. Toronto outrebounded Atlanta 54-34 and scored 86 of their points in the paint, which is unacceptable in the eyes of Quin Snyder.

“It’s hard to win games like that,” Snyder told The Atlanta Voice’s Donnell Suggs. “There are a lot of things we need to clean up, and that’s stating the obvious.”
The Atlanta Hawks will look to bounce back when they visit the Orlando Magic, who won their opening game against the Miami Heat, at the Kia Center this Friday evening.
