Trae Young and the Atlanta Hawks are gaining ground in the Eastern Conference standing of late, having won seven of their last 10 games.
They are also on a two-game win streak after taking down the Charlotte Hornets on the road last Tuesday, 134-102, and trouncing the Golden State Warriors at State Farm Arena in Atlanta on Saturday, 124-115. The three days of rest before the Warriors game seemingly gave Atlanta a nice boost.
Young had quite an evening himself versus the Stephen Curry-less Warriors, as the former Oklahoma Sooners star led Atlanta with 25 points on 9-for-15 shooting with 10 assists, five boards and a steal in 35 minutes of action.
Thanks in large part to Young’s big performance, the Hawks have managed to keep an unfavorable streak for the Warriors going.

Trae Young, Atlanta Hawks even regular-season series with Warriors

The Hawks have now won six home games in a row when up against Golden State. The last time the Dubs scored a victory in Atlanta was way back in December 2018, when they eked out a 114-109 victory there.
Additionally, Atlanta’s success on Saturday leveled the team’s regular-season series this season against the Warriors, who beat the Hawks in November at Chase Center in San Francisco.
Onyeka Okongwu also had a solid outing in the win over Golden State, as he came up with 22 points and 12 boards plus six assists and two blocks in 34 minutes. Georges Niang supplied ample offensive support from the bench for the Hawks, with the former Iowa State Cyclones star scoring 23 points with six 3-pointers.
