Teams rarely stick with their stars. But the Miami Heat are an oddity in the NBA because they are unwilling to let go of their top big man, Bam Adebayo. According to ESPN’s Zach Lowe, the Heat have stood their ground in shutting down teams who want to include Adebayo in any trade packages.
Lowe said in the recent episode of his program, “The Zach Lowe Show,” that Adebayo has garnered interest from other teams in the league. The insider did not specify which teams have inquired about the former Kentucky star. However, those who have asked about his availability have been shut down.
“Would they ever include Bam in a package to clear their books and pivot to a younger direction? Other teams I know have for sure asked about Bam and have been told ‘Hell no’. As they sniff around at Giannis and other star players, all of those star players want to play with Bam. I do think the Heat will more than sniff around with Giannis situation,” Lowe said.

Bam Adebayo is in his ninth season in the NBA, all of it with the Heat. He’s been their top defensive star, always a candidate in the Defensive Player of the Year race. The three-time All-Star has averaged 15.8 points, 8.9 rebounds and 3.6 assists for Miami, and the organization sees a future with him.
Bam Adebayo shares his opinion of coach Erik Spoelstra after an upset win over the Detroit Pistons

The Miami Heat have won four straight games for the second time this season. They beat the top team in the Eastern Conference, the Detroit Pistons, on Thursday, a strong start to the New Year. Thanks to the strong 36-point outing from veteran guard Norman Powell, Miami took down the Pistons, 118-112.
After the game, Bam Adebayo spoke about how coach Erik Spoelstra emphasized consistency and aggressiveness in the third quarter. He also revealed his opinion of Spoelstra, calling him a “maniac.”
“Definitely a conversation,” Adebayo said. “But more so, our mentality going into the third.. We feel like we have a drop off to start the third. Our coach is a maniac, and he’s going to emphasize it and pick at it until we get it right.”
