Miami Heat’s relationship with Jimmy Butler going sour was one of the most discussed storyline in the NBA last season. Bam Adebayo was left as the leader of the team when he was eventually traded to the Golden State Warriors in February in exchange for Andrew Wiggins.

Not a lot of critics are high on Heat’s season but the team feels totally different. They have played four games so far and are with a 3-1 record. They recorded three straight victories after losing to the Orlando Magic.
Adebayo said the aura in the team right now is much different compared to last season.
“We’re enjoying how we’re playing…from my standpoint remember how we was in the mud all last year trying to figure out how to win and to have these type of games where you putting up 140,” he said.
“It’s very fun for a lot of us.”

Heat beat the Charlotte Hornets on Tuesday, 144-117, with six players scoring in double digits.
Adebayo is currently playing a career year so far statistics wise. He is averaging 21 points in four games. He never gone past 21 point mark in his career.
Bam Adebayo is growing into a leader
The Heat may have lost Butler but it is now a veteran-ladened team. They still got Tyler Herro who broke out into an All-Star last season. He is out right now due to injury but he will return before the year ends.
They also got Wiggins and Norman Powell who was the second best scorer of the Los Angeles Clippers behind James Harden. They also have young players like Kel’el Ware and Jamie Jaquez who wants to prove themselves as they grow in the league.

Keeping this rag tag team is Adebayo who according to head coach Erik Spoelstra is embracing the leadership role well.
Just listen to Erik Spoelstra talk about Bam and his leadership:
“He’s bringing everybody together, that’s leadership, that’s connection, that’s somebody who really wants this group to get better…he understands the responsibility, he’s really growing into it organically.”
