Every player has a preferred NBA city they enjoy playing in when on the road. Players also have their least favorite cities to play in. Boston Celtics guard Derrick White revealed what his least favorite NBA city is. White talked about his experience in the latest episode of his podcast, “White Noise.”

In the NBA, players typically aspire to play in major cities like New York and Los Angeles. Golden State Warriors star Stephen Curry even had some of his memorable games in Madison Square Garden. He had a 54-point game in 2013 and became the all-time leader in 3-pointers made in the same arena in 2021, passing former star Ray Allen.

But some players view some cities as their least favorite. White’s least favorite NBA city to play in is Memphis. According to him, he thinks they have the worst hotel across the league.

“Memphis, probably,” White said. “I mean, the hotel is probably the worst hotel in the NBA.

However, there is something good in the city. The Boston Celtics guard said that the food is good in Memphis.

“The food there is good, though.

His co-host and best friend, Alex Welsh, referred to a specific hotel that White shared with him off-camera and confirmed if it was the one in Memphis. But the 31-year-old guard clarified that it was in Philadelphia. He continued by telling his show’s audience about his encounter in a certain Philadelphia hotel.

“That’s in Philadelphia. You gotta take one elevator up, then you gotta walk across, take another elevator down. So, the lobby’s on the top. You have to take an elevator down to your room.

“That is a lot. Especially when I’m getting to the mailroom or something, I got to leave, like 10 minutes before or something because I’mma be late for film.”

He also revealed that Indiana doesn’t have a great hotel. Though like the others, he didn’t reveal the name of the hotel.

The Boston Celtics guard mentioned Denver as one of his favorite NBA cities to play in

Before the Boston Celtics guard talked about his least favorite NBA city, he revealed which are some of his favorites. According to White, he loves playing in Los Angeles, New York and Miami. Their food, weather and hotel are what the NBA guard took into account when enumerating the reasons why those are his preferred cities to play in.

White also mentioned Denver, which holds a special place for him since he’s from Colorado.

“Obviously, Denver is pretty special. I’m just coming back home and seeing my friends and my family,” he said.
