Th 2025-26 season for the Boston Celtics will be extra different after their summer activities. Jayson Tatum will be out for the whole 2025-26 season on top of that, leaving Jaylen Brown and Derrick White as the only ones left from their starting five.

Celtics had to let go Kristaps Porzingis and Jrue Holiday to cut salary while Luke Kornet moved on to the San Antonio Spurs. The squad was broken up and for Brown, they are moving on to a new era.
“This whole summer’s been great. It’s been a great healing summer. It’s a new era of the Celtics,” Brown said in his livestream.
“You know, it feels like a new era,”
He also wished his teammates well and emphasized how the team changed a lot.

“Half the team is gone. I wish them the best. I appreciate them. They were great teammates, so it’s kind of sad to see them go. It’s a new era, everything has kind of changed and shifted.”
Boston Celtics’ depth chart
Other holdovers in the team are Sam Hauser, Payton Pritchard, Neemias Queta, Xavier Tillman, and Jordan Walsh. New major acquisitions are Chris Boucher and Anfernee Simons although there are persistent rumors the latter might be traded eventually.
Their starting five is not final yet but according to a Celtics insider, they will address the absence of Tatum through three players and new line up. The players that were named were Hauser, Boucher, and Queta.

The last two will be utilized for size.
“Going double bigs with Chris Boucher and Neemias Queta would be a way to shore up defensive size and rebounding concerns while still having some 3-point range to stretch the floor at power forward with Boucher,” Celtics insider Brian Robb wrote.
Hauser will also be paired with Jaylen Brown for more scoring.
