Jaylen Brown was critical of his first-half performance during the Boston Celtics’ 113-99 road win against the Brooklyn Nets yesterday. The one-time NBA champion only had six points in 10 minutes during the said timeframe.

However, Brown came back to life in the second half, as he scored a season-high 17 points in the third quarter. The Boston Celtics star eventually finished with a game-high 29 points, four rebounds, and four assists on 9-for-19 shooting from the field in 32 minutes.
“I was just playing like s**t in the first half, honestly,” Brown admitted via Taylor Snow of Celtics.com. “I turned the ball over, so it just took a minute for me to figure it out. I kind of picked it up to close the game.”

“But I’ve got to come out to a better start in the first half, especially in the first quarter, because the team kind of feeds off me. I know that, so I’ve got to be better. Joe (Mazzulla) is just holding me to a higher standard,” he continued.
Boston Celtics News: Payton Pritchard joins exclusive club vs. Brooklyn Nets
Despite Jaylen Brown’s subpar first half, the Boston Celtics were neck-and-neck with the Brooklyn Nets as Payton Pritchard kept them afloat. The former Sixth Man of the Year had 22 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, and five three-pointers on 5-for-12 shooting from the field in 35 minutes.

Pritchard became the eighth player in Boston Celtics history to convert 700 career three-pointers, and is now 12 threes away from surpassing former teammate Al Horford on the list.
Derrick White, Anfernee Simons, and Josh Minott were the other double-digit scorers for Boston, with 15, 11, and 10 points, respectively.
