With Jayson Tatum out indefinitely due to a torn Achilles, Jaylen Brown is expected to shoulder the heavy load for the Boston Celtics on both ends of the floor in the 2025-26 campaign.

According to Law Murray of The Athletic, Brown is poised to have a terrific season as the Boston Celtics’ No. 1 option, as he compared the former Finals MVP to Scottie Pippen for the Chicago Bulls in 1994 when Michael Jordan retired for the first time to play baseball.

“Jaylen Brown’s too good,” Murray said on The Garden Report. “This is the opportunity that, if you’re Jaylen Brown, you should have wanted this your whole career.”

“Think about how people talk about Scottie Pippen just off the year he got to play in his prime without Michael Jordan…This is probably your one time in your prime with this franchise to be that dude, and we’re gonna learn about Jaylen Brown and Joe Mazzulla,” he added.

Jaylen Brown isn’t afraid to speak what’s on his mind. During a candid interview with “The School of Hard Knocks,” the Boston Celtics star shared some timely advice on how to overcome adversity.

“I’ve dealt with anxiety, even depression. I’ve been to some very dark places,” Brown said. “But I feel like those dark places have allowed my light to shine.”

“It’s OK. Never let anything break your spirit. Everybody’s gonna deal with adversity at some point—even plants struggle to get sunlight… And anytime I’ve ever been alone, I’ve just always filled that space with the Most High. He’s always guided me. Faith, consistency, and hard work pay off,” he added.
