Jaylen Brown daringly clashes against veteran journalist Stephen A. Smith for not providing any reputable source regarding the Boston Celtics star’s perceived arrogance and that some people dislike him.
During the last NBA playoffs, Smith mentioned a text from an anonymous source at a segment of ESPN’s First Take about Brown’s hidden negative attitude that became viral, which caused a backlash on the Celtics guard.
Jaylen Brown was very annoyed about these lingering rumors from the unknown source. During his featured appearance at Smith’s “The Stephen A. Smith Show,” Brown also criticized the columnist for not having the strength to expose the mentioned source.
“I wanted to send a message through you to them. Cause you’re [Smith] the only person who knows their source is,” Brown said. “I basically wanted to say to them, that I think it’s cowardice. I think, historically, unnamed sources have attacked some of our greats and I/we are not responsible for what they lack in design.”
Jaylen Brown also raised the importance of integrity in mentioning controversial statements. He pointed that in criticizing players like him, people shouldn’t cross the line and should not attack their personal lives.
“I think journalistic integrity requires it to go both ways. I never had the chance to respond or defend myself. One, because they’re never going to reveal themselves. Two, the damage is already done. So, when I’m speaking to is the unnamed source,” Brown added.

Despite Jaylen Brown’s confrontation with Smith, their discussion became good overall. The two even took a photo after the show wearing a shirt containing the words “State Your Source,” which Brown had demanded of Smith when he made the heated statement last May.

Jaylen Brown on party mode before NBA season
Before the intense games of the NBA days later, Jaylen Brown engages in a pre-birthday party packed with close friends and famous personalities. He even channeled his full Boston Celtics mode by wearing an all-green suit and made a solo performance.
During his performance, Brown was joined by rappers Kodak Black and Lil Baby, singing notable songs like “Wake Up in the Sky” and “Close Friends.” The party was delightful, allowing the Celtics guard another relaxing moment before playing on the court.
Jaylen Brown’s actual birthday would be on October 22, which will also be his first game of the season against the New York Knicks. Brown’s team continues to be considered by many as one of the powerhouses of the NBA, defending their championship title against formidable teams in the following games.
