Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has earned the reputation of being a “sicko” because of his intense coaching style and crazy attention to detail, which was evident during his latest appearance on The Lowe Post.

During the podcast episode, Zach Lowe and Joe Mazzulla discussed several basketball topics, including winning Banner No. 18 for the Boston Celtics. But along the way, Lowe curiously asked Mazzulla how he’d pull off a bank heist, to which the latter answered with a straight face.
“I would either want to plan the whole thing, like attention to detail. Find the people that you know personalities and characteristics work for each positioning that you need. It’s all about the preparation,” Mazzulla explained via Steph Noh on X (formerly known as Twitter).
“Once you’re in that moment, you have to rely on the preparation similar to a game. So I would like to be the guy that plans it or hires the people and sets it in motion. Or the guy that has to have steady hands, control his breathing to execute the safe,” he concluded.

Hearing this from the Boston Celtics champion coach is not surprising. After all, he mentioned that Ben Affleck’s “The Town” was his favorite show.
Joe Mazzulla is forever a Boston Celtics legend
Joe Mazzulla’s name is in the Boston Celtics’ history books after he guided his team to Banner No. 18, beating the Dallas Mavericks in five games in the 2024 NBA Finals.

Before his interview with Zach Lowe, Joe Mazzulla broke the internet for casually strolling through the North End of Boston with the Larry O’Brien trophy, where some lucky fans got to touch the league’s biggest prize.
Mazzulla is no stranger to unconventional ways of coaching his team, as the 35-year-old tactician used UFC fights and the movie “The Dark Knight” to get his point across to his players during their playoff run.
