Boston Celtics’ Jrue Holiday Was Never a Better Player Than Brandon Jennings, According to the Ex-NBA Player

Boston Celtics guard Jrue Holiday has done a great job with his career, winning individual and team awards. He’s regarded as one of the best two-way guards in the NBA and is often considered to be the winner of the Defensive Player of the Year. While Holiday has had a decorated career, not everyone thinks he’s one of the better basketball players ever to touch the floor.

One of the players who shares that sentiment is former NBA player Brandon Jennings. On Tuesday, the crew of the show “Gil’s Arena” did a re-draft of the 2009 class, which Jennings is a part of. In their re-draft, Golden State Warriors Stephen Curry ended as the top pick, followed by Los Angeles Clippers’ James Harden. For the third pick, it’s DeMar DeRozan of the Sacramento Kings.

Former star Blake Griffin is fourth, while Celtics’ Holiday secured the fifth spot.

Before they moved on, however, they asked Jennings what he feels about the re-draft. Without hesitation, the former Milwaukee Bucks star revealed his thoughts.

“I don’t think half the players — I don’t think a lot of those players are better than me,” Jennings said.

“Jrue Holiday was never better than me in the game of basketball… He has a better career. They have better careers than me, they’re not better than me though. Are you f**king crazy? They ended up becoming better but they’re not better than me.

“Jrue Holiday was NEVER better than me in the game of basketball.” 😳

After his rant, his co-host Gilbert Arenas went on a rant and talked about how Jennings was a starter during his first year. He pointed out that players like Curry, Harden and Holiday were bench players in their rookie season.

Fans were quick to defend the Boston Celtics guard after Jennings said he was better.

“Brandon Jennings was out of the league in his late 20’s yet Jrue’s getting a max contract at age 34 lmao there’s levels to this,” a fan said.

“How is Brandon Jennings better?” another fan commented.

“People like Jennings dont understand theres two sides of the ball,” one fan said.

When talking about accolades, Holiday has collected more. He’s a two-time All-Star, a two-time champion and a six-time All-Defensive player. When it comes to talent, however, fans can continue to argue which player is better.
