After missing Saturday’s game against the Toronto Raptors due to an illness, Jaylen Brown picked up where he left off in the Boston Celtics’ 103-95 home win against the Indiana Pacers on Monday night to stretch their winning run to three games.
The one-time NBA champion had 31 points (game-high), nine rebounds, and two blocks on 11-for-25 shooting from the field across 33 minutes. After the match, Brown told reporters that he is happy to be the main catalyst behind the Boston Celtics’ 18-11 start.
“It means everything. I think this has been my favorite season so far. Being able to get an opportunity to lead a group of guys who, some of us, we have some championship experience, but we have five or six new guys who haven’t really played NBA basketball, and now we look like one of the better teams in the league. That’s a credit to our coaching staff and our leadership,” Brown stated via WEEI’s Justin Turpin.
Brown has scored at least 30 points in his last seven appearances for the Boston Celtics and is averaging a career-high 29.3 points per game so far this season. The 29-year-old swingman is in the Top 10 of the NBA MVP ladder.

Boston Celtics News: Joe Mazzulla praises spitfire guard for sparking second-half rally vs. Indiana Pacers
With 9:22 remaining in the third period and the Boston Celtics down 20 points, head coach Joe Mazzulla made the bold decision to replace the starters with bench players, and the second unit sparked the comeback.
Anfernee Simons spearheaded the charge by scoring nine of his 11 points in the third period. The eight-year pro drew praise from Mazzulla for his professionalism and for embracing his bench role this campaign.
