Boston Celtics: Jaylen Brown Bluntly Rejects Idea About Workload With Jayson Tatum

Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum have been playing together for the Boston Celtics for a long time, and their familiarity with each other plays a big role in the success of their team. But when it comes to workload going forward in the 2024 NBA Playoffs amid the absence of big man Kristapos Porzingis, there’s nothing that will change for the duo,

Jaylen Brown Knows it Will Take the Whole Boston Celtics Team to Win

Asked after the Celtics’ 118-84 demolition of the Miami Heat in Game 5 about his role alongside Tatum amid the absence of the Latvian unicorn, Brown simply said that Boston’s success doesn’t just hinge on him and his on-court partner.

Via Jay King of The Athletic:

Jaylen Brown was asked if he and Jayson Tatum need to do more without Kristaps Porzingis.

“No,” Brown said. “I think we just have to continue to play our game like we’ve been doing our whole career and continuing to show our growth and trusting our teammates. I think if we’re going to win, we’re going to win as a team. And we’ve gotta be able to use everybody to their best strengths. So I think that’s what we’re more focused on is let the game come to you but do whatever it the game needs to get a win.”

What’s hard to deny, though, is that the Celtics need Brown and Tatum to play at a high level if they are to survive and end up as the last team standing in the 2024 NBA Playoffs.

In the first round against the Heat, Brown averaged 22.8 points, while Tatum had 21.8. Derrick White also provided a terrific contribution with a 22.4 points per game average.
